We are looking for a senior mechanical design engineer who wants to take the next step as a Product Maintenance Lead in a key area of our robotic mower development. This is a combined engineering and leadership role where you will both work hands-on with mechanical design and take responsibility for coordinating and driving continuous product improvements.
At Husqvarna, our R&D organization is built to develop both high-quality products and talented people. You'll be part of a well-equipped, cross-functional environment including labs, workshops, and expert teams - all designed to foster innovation and knowledge sharing.
The Team
You will join the Robotics Mechanics Development Team, responsible for both new development and life cycle management of our robotic lawn mowers. As Product Maintenance Lead you will focus on maintaining and improving existing products - helping us secure and strengthen our market-leading position.
The team culture is collaborative, inclusive, and prestige-free. You'll work with skilled colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and there is plenty of room for your ideas and leadership.
Your Role
In addition to regular design tasks, you will be the main contact person for our improvement efforts on one or several product platforms. You'll lead coordination and planning for quality and cost improvement activities, and coach other engineers in their work.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate product improvement (PI) deliveries within mechanics
Act as spokesperson for PI-related issues in internal and cross-functional forums
Be the primary contact for assigned product platforms (internal and external interfaces)
Support and coach engineers in quality- and cost-improvement tasks
Follow up and report technical, quality, and cost improvements
Plan long-term PI activities together with relevant stakeholders
Design Engineer Responsibilities
Develop and update mechanical parts in CAD (preferably Catia V5)
Ensure product requirements are implemented and verified
Support DFA/DFAA (Design for Assembly/Automation) in collaboration with production
Manage data and changes in PLM/PDM systems , preferably Teamcenter
Take ownership of your tasks and support colleagues when needed
About you
You're a structured and communicative engineer with a passion for improvement. You're confident in leading technical coordination, but also enjoy solving engineering challenges together with a team.
To succeed in this role, you likely have:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Extensive experience with product design (especially plastic parts)
Strong CAD skills (preferably Catia V5)
Experience in life cycle management or product improvement projects
Ability to lead others without formal authority
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Location & Work Setup
Our team is based in Huskvarna, where we believe in the value of working closely together. While some flexibility exists, we aim for 80% on-site presence, as collaboration is at the heart of how we work.
If you're ready to shape the future of robotic mowers and be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration-we'd love to hear from you!
