To our amazing Engineering team at Range Area Children's IKEA we are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer!

As our new Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be a key person in the development of new children's products and you will work with a big variety of product types and materials.
Develop the mechanical design in different materials and functions, from concept sketch to final product, always having all aspects of Democratic Design in mind.
Search for, develop and deploy innovative solutions and materials.
To secure that all mechanical requirements (legal as functional) are covered by the product design.
To develop, document and maintain the digital 3D models and 2D drawings with all relevant dimensions and tolerances according to IKEA CAD Standards.
To evaluate designs with Calculations and (FEM) simulations together with our in-house FEA-experts before testing on prototypes.
To be the main contact with IKEA of Sweden prototype department.
Evaluate product improve initiatives suggested by our business partners.
Act on product deviations connected to safety, quality and compliance.
