The AkzoNobel site in Årsta, Stockholm is a R&D site hosting about 50 employees that develops wood adhesives and resin systems for industrial use within the beam-, floor- and furniture industry. Do you have a passion to develop new machine solutions? Do you want to be part of a large international company? We are now looking for a Mechanical Design Developer for our R&D department.

What you will do?
As a Mechanical Design Developer, you will be part of the R&D team working with machine solutions for application and optimization of our adhesive systems. Together with project teams you will develop new machine solutions as well as update and continuously improve existing solutions, to fulfil and exceed the demands from our customers for the latest innovations.
Your main tasks and responsibilities are:
• Develop hardware to our machine solutions in close cooperation with manufacturing, sales, marketing and other R&D teams.
• Continuously improving current machine solutions based on feedback from customer and sales.
• Lead or be a member of cross-functional project teams

The position can require travelling to customers for approximately 25-50 days/year to understand the customer needs for new machine solutions as well as to make prototype installations and trials.

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Machine Department Team Leader.

Who you are?
As a person you are driven, curious, results oriented and structured. As you will be working in a small cross-functional team you will be responsible for your own planning and making sure that each part of the solutions you are developing meets our customer's requirements. You should have a basic know-how of both electrics and pneumatics as you will be required to troubleshoot and install equipment by yourself. You are somewhat of a generalist who enjoy being involved in the entire product development process from idea and purchasing to prototyping, testing, certifying, installing, launching, and supporting new machines and systems
A university degree within engineering, with relevant engineering areas being: Mechanical engineering and/or mechatronics. Experience from working with hardware design for the process or manufacturing industry, or similar areas, with experience from the wood working industry considered an advantage.
Knowledge and experience in SolidWorks or equivalent software is required. Experience in flow mechanics, sheet metal design and manufacturing are considered an advantage. You are a good communicator, both in writing and verbally, with a highly flexible customer focus. Fluent in Swedish and English, knowledge in German considered an advantage.
