The Client is at the forefront of automotive engineering, leading the way in designing and manufacturing top-of-the-line heavy-duty trucks.
As a Mechanical CAD Engineer specializing in exterior plastic components, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team. You will work closely with an engineer responsible for chassis fairings and air deflectors on heavy-duty trucks. Together with a dedicated team focusing on aero devices, you 'll work towards designing cutting-edge solutions that redefine the industry.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with a small, dedicated team, both on-site and off-site, to ensure project progress and timely deliveries.
• Conduct detailed design work using Catia V5, applying advanced structured part creation techniques in both solid and surface modeling.
• Implement draft analysis and tool set-up to optimize modeling for tooling.
• Perform assembly analysis to enhance production assembly processes.
• Drive component optimization, considering factors such as weight, strength, process selection, and cost efficiency.
• Integrate fixation systems seamlessly into parts and complete systems.
• Create detailed part and system drawings.
• Be a team player, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
About you
We are searching for a skilled mechanical CAD engineer, who has mainly worked with plastic components in the Exterior area. Familiarity with the products Front High, Flat Medium, and Forward control Medium Xtreme, along with the ability to efficiently work on conceptual designs during early project phases, will be considered a valuable merit. We also see that you have proficiency in the English language.
This position requires the following skills in Catia V5:
• Advanced structured part creation skills, encompassing both solid and surface modeling.
• Proficiency in modeling with a focus on tooling, including draft analysis and tool setup.
• Experience in assembly analysis, with an eye for production assembly optimization.
• Strong ability to optimize components, considering weight, strength, process selection, and cost-efficiency.
• Expertise in integrating fixation systems into parts and systems.
• Proficient in creating detailed part and system drawings.
