Global Engineering and Real Estate team has its main hubs in the U.K., U.S. and Sweden, they also have a presence in Asia Pacific and France. By putting next generation assets on the ground, the team is playing a fundamental role in supporting AstraZeneca's strong pipeline. Combining the use of the newest technologies, skilled program management and a broad range of engineering and construction expertise, the team establishes strong partnerships with end customers to build facilities which match requirements and exceed expectations.



The Mechanical Building Services Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be one of many Subject Matter Experts within the Global Engineering Technical Services team who provide a range of services to all parts of the AstraZeneca business.



Main Duties and Responsibilities

As Mechanical Building Services SME you will be responsible for delivering the technical aspects of HVAC and clean/black utility delivery to projects. We will make sure you have a good understanding of corporate business goals and you will convert them into technical solutions. This requires a developed business leadership in addition to a strong technical background.



You will lead the technical definition for HVAC and clean/black utilities within pharmaceutical facility capital projects. We work collaboratively with end users and other internal partners to agree and define clear requirements for external designers. As a part of our cross-functional team you will, at times, be required to support operations with technical support to address problems.



We are also responsible for establishing core HVAC and clean/black utilities requirements on capital projects, to define strategies and provide technical input and directions during capital project design from concept through detailed design and equipment selection.



You will support Project Managers and Project Technical Managers during construction to include monitoring the flow of information between vendors, contractors and internal resources to deliver design intent and meet quality standards.



Essential Requirements

* Fluent communicator (written and verbal) in English and Swedish
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in mechanical, building services, or related field
* 10 years post-graduate working experience in a commercial pharmaceutical manufacturing or development environment or design organization/consultancy working for clients in the pharmaceutical industry.
* In-depth technical and operational knowledge of cleanroom HVAC design in pharmaceutical industries for sterile and non-sterile products and a broad understanding of clean utilities such as purified water, water for injection, clean steam, and compressed air.



Desirable Requirements

* Master's degree or PhD would be advantageous but not essential
* In depth technical knowledge of clean utilities (such as purified water, water for injection, clean steam, and compressed air) would be beneficial.
* Experience in commissioning and qualification of cleanrooms in pharmaceutical industries
* Broad understanding of black utilities and designing for sustainability.



Collaboration is a way of life for us. This role is based in Sweden but is an active part of our global team, and your expertise may be needed for technical assessments at other facilities. In order to do so, you need to be able to travel internationally accordingly.
