The Test Technology group at Scania Technical Center STC currently consists of eight competent employees in various areas. Our main task is to meet R&D measurement needs in an appropriate manner. We not only work with measurement of components from combustion engines but also support the technological transition that our electrified vehicles imply.
We are now looking for a meticulous and committed employee with a high-quality awareness and a natural inclination for problem-solving. You have a drive and persistence, while also having the ability to complete tasks and work in a structured manner. You are a team player who values collaboration and provides both customers and colleagues with good support. Additionally, you have a desire to continuously work with efficiency and improvements.
We are in an expansive phase as we want to be part of Scania's Transformation Journey. We are investing in new technology and now have different types of 3D scanners, with the latest acquisition enabling measurement of large test objects.
Your role
As a measurement engineer, you will work with advanced technical equipment. We use mobile 3D scanners for both large and small objects. Your tasks will vary, from simpler standard measurements to advanced measurements. We offer you opportunities for growth within the field!
You will work closely with our R&D customers, managers, and suppliers.
Your main tasks will include:
• Performing measurements with mobile 3D scanners
• Processing measurement data and creating reports in Polyworks
• Analyzing measurement data and conducting quality investigations
• Creating and adapting programs
• Delivering results to our customers
• Participating in the development and optimization of work methods and standards
• Documenting measurement results with traceability
• Writing instructions for different work methods
• Working with high quality and precision in your work
• Ensuring that our customers receive results on time
• Participating in continuous improvement measures
• Ordering service, spare parts, and similar items
Your background
To be successful in the role as a measurement engineer, you need:
• Technical education at high school level or equivalent
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing
• Experience in reading drawings
• Competence in form and positional tolerances
• Knowledge of ISO standards
• Some experience with 3D scanning
• Merit if you have experience with the evaluation software Polyworks
• Good knowledge of PC usage and experience with the Office package
To thrive and succeed in this role, you need to be meticulous, structured, analytical, and have an ability to collaborate with others. You are comfortable working both independently and, in a team, and you enjoy responsibility and working in a structured manner even in a busy work environment.
