ISSR- The International School of the Stockholm Region is a publically funded international school which runs the three International Baccalaureate curricula the Primary Years Programme (PYP) offered to students from 5-11 years of age, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) offered to students from 11-16 and the Diploma Programme (DP) offered to students from 16-19. At ISSR, the PYP and MYP programmes exist primarily to serve the educational needs of the transient and/or international community of Stockholm while the DP serves this purpose but is also open to Swedish students. The school's language of instruction is English for all subjects. Thus at ISSR our students can receive an internationally-recognized education in English from 5 to 19 years of age in one location in the center of Stockholm.
1 plats(er).This fall ISSR will need a mathematics teacher for the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). The DP is a challenging pre-university course taught in English. The programme demands the best from both motivated students and teachers. ISSR has been running the DP since 1999 and aspires to provide a high quality, international environment. The teachers at ISSR are qualified and experienced DP and MYP educators. In addition to lessons, teachers often meet their students for individual guidance. The MYP is designed for students from 11-16 years of age. It is the bridge between the PYP and the more subject-based studies in the DP. Like DP students, MYP students encounter more traditional subjects. However, MYP teachers will guide and challenge students to explore the natural connections between disciplines and can often collaborate between two subjects during an interdisciplinary unit of study targeting the overlaps that occur between traditional disciplines
ISSR offers a full-time position in mathematics. We invite applications from well qualified and highly motivated teachers who are comfortable with teaching in English. The successful applicant will join an expanding school that has high expectations of academic achievement and pastoral care.
Responsibilities include:
• Planning high quality lessons and ongoing documentation of student achievement according to IB standards.
• Maintaining an engaging and organized learning environment
• Maintaining ongoing parent/school communication
• Mentorship for approximately 20 student
• Participating in school activities (assemblies, evening events, conferences, etc.)
• Planning with colleagues across the school
• Continued professional development
A qualified candidate will be:
• A university educated teacher in mathematics with certification from either Sweden or a native English speaking country
• Has MYP/DP training and/or experience
• Has international study or work experience
• Has a high level of communication skills (parents, teacher team, students)
• Is a native English-speaker
• Highly competent with IT (Windows platform, Smartboard, HTML, and other tools for learning).

Krav på arbetslivserfarenhet: Erfarenhet krävs.
