Are you our new team member?
Our Fleet Department is growing! We are looking for Mates and Masters who want to be part of a close-knit team on board our survey vessels, delivering survey operations across Europe.
About us:
Njord Survey was founded in 2015 with a clear ambition: to challenge how offshore surveys are delivered. By combining state-of-the-art technology with innovative thinking, we deliver high-quality hydrographic and geophysical surveys more efficiently, for navigation, dredging, charting, marine construction for renewable energy and more.
We are in an exciting phase of growth, now with more than 120 dedicated employees delivering tailored solutions to meet each project's and client's needs.
Scope of work:
At Njord Survey, we use state-of-the-art technology to operate efficient survey vessels with a lower environmental footprint. Our vessels typically carry a crew of 2 to 8 people, depending on vessel size and project, which allows us to stay flexible and adapt quickly to our clients' needs. Data is collected on board and processed by our onshore team at the Gothenburg office.
On board, we work as one team. The vessel operates independently in planning and executing survey operations, in close collaboration with the office and our onshore processing team. Together, the crew is responsible for the safe navigation, operation and maintenance of the vessel, including onboard planning, procurement, inventory and reporting to project management. On some vessels there is no dedicated engineer, so everyone contributes where needed. We are constantly developing how we operate, and your experience and ideas are part of that.
Masters carry overall responsibility for the vessel, crew and safety, while Mates support the Master and take operational responsibility during assigned watches. Both work closely with the survey team on board to ensure high-quality data acquisition.

Who we are looking for:
You thrive in small teams and understand that it is the team that makes the vessel work. You enjoy new challenges, are comfortable adapting when plans change, and are always ready to lend a hand where it is needed. You have an interest in technology, and experience from smaller vessels is an advantage.
The organisational language is English, so you need professional proficiency in both spoken and written English.
