At Upgrades, we work with over 700 language coaches across a broad range of languages. We choose our coaches for their teaching abilities and motivating personalities. Some of our coaches are qualified teachers, others are studying to become teachers and some have gained experience in other ways. Our role as language coaches is to plan and implement structured language training, so that you can learn the language of your choice in the most enjoyable and effective way possible.
The English4Kids program:
English4Kids inspires children up to 12 years old to speak English in an engaging, fun and pedagogical environment. We introduce children to the English language, strengthen their self-esteem, and help them develop their communication skills. Our goal is that, through language, we can increase children?s comprehension and knowledge of the world around us.
English4Kids has both weekly group classes during an autumn and spring term and camps during the school holidays.
The role:
You will be responsible for covering the English4Kids Manager?s maternity leave, from mid-March 2016 to the end of February 2017.
The position is 50% with a flex-time structure to accommodate fluctuating busy periods with the classes and camps.
Based at Upgrades offices in Östermalm, Stockholm.
Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for the running of the English4Kids program, including:
• Updating and issuing information to customers and English4Kids instructors
• Recruitment and training of new instructors as required
• Visiting all scheduled classes both at the start of each term and as required
• Weekly curriculum production and ordering of materials
• Main point of contact for English4Kids queries (schools, families and instructors)
• Ad-hoc class cover
• Overseeing and assisting the English4Kids camps
Candidate profile - requirements:
• Full professional proficiency in English is essential
• Graduated from an English-speaking college or university
• Professional proficiency in Swedish ? able to communicate confidently both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent organisational and customer service skills
• Motivated and dedicated approach
• Available to work during the English4Kids summer camps ? weeks 24, 25, 26, 31 and 32.
It is beneficial if you have:
• Experience working with children
• Experience with English language tutoring
