Location
One opening is immediately available in the Software Development Department in Thermo-Calc Software AB, Stockholm, Sweden. We adhere to a remote-friendly mindset, meaning that remote work is acceptable for the right candidate.
Primary responsibilities
The successful candidate will join our Structure-based Materials Property team based in Stockholm and will be working on the development of quantitative models for predicting materials properties that are dependent on materials structures. Responsibilities includes:
• Development and implementation of both new and existing models connecting structure and mechanic properties of materials.
• Working in the entire project process, including conceptualization, analysis, design, implementation, testing, refinement, verification, and validation.
• Collaborating with our Data and Software development teams to efficiently build the model into our software products.
Qualifications and skills
Graduate degree (PhD or equivalent) in Materials or Mechanical Science and Engineering.
Enjoying team work and demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
Comprehensive knowledge and deep understanding of structure-mechanical property relationship of materials.
Excellent track record in modelling structure-based mechanical properties of materials.
Programming experience in Python, Java, or other programming language.
Strong communication skills.
It is also meritorious if you have experience or interest in any of the following:
Mathematics and/or Numerical methods
Thermodynamic and /or kinetic modelling using CALPHAD tools
Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken language, is required.
