As Materials Engineer with focus on stainless steel at Erasteel you will be a part of a successful business with a strong commitment to the future. You will hold a key position in developing the area of gas atomized powder in our new production unit Durin. Söderfors is a small village located approx. 150 km north of Stockholm and on commutes distances from Gävle (40 km) and Uppsala (80 km).
Responsibility and tasks
Provide and develop expertise in main applications of gas atomized powder in stainless and Ni-base alloys (mainly Near Net Shape parts for oil & gas and nuclear industry) and factors influencing performance in such applications.
Provide and develop expertise in test methods typical for stainless and Ni-base materials such as corrosion testing, impact toughness, tensile testing, etc.
Act as project leader for research and development of metal powder in stainless and Ni-bas alloys
Understand technical norms or specifications and establish appropriate action plan to achieve qualification
Participate and represent the company at industry organizations, technical seminars, conferences, technical discussions with customers etc
Provide sales and marketing support to grow and develop business in stainless and Ni-base powder grades (technical data sheets) together with other Eramet Alloys experts.
Do internal training for operators when there are new products or new methods
Develop technical grounds for product development in the near future by keeping up with technological innovations (literature, conferences, contacts with universities and customers, etc)
As Materials Engineer you will report to Manager Products and Application Development.
Profile
Your educational background is MSc or PhD in metallurgy or material science.
We would like you to have several years experience in product or alloy development in stainless steels and preferably also Ni-base alloys. If you have experience in development of other materials such as Co-base alloys, low alloy steels etc, it is a benefit.
Knowledge in material science is a requirement and experience in leading development projects an advantage.
You have to be fluent in English and other language skills are appreciated. Knowledge in Swedish is an advantage.
