hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos Questek Europe AB i Solna QuesTek is seeking candidates for a Materials Design Engineer to be working on the design and development of new materials. The responsibilities and activities will include:
• Work with and lead project teams to design and invent new materials
• Develop and use materials design models
• Manage project activities including experimental work such as fabrication, processing, characterization, and testing of prototype materials and theoretical work such as thermodynamic modelling using CALPHAD-based applications and materials design-based software development
• Interact with customers and end-users to define design requirements and identify new opportunities
• Document and report on both internal and client based material design efforts
• Assist and lead proposal efforts for internal and client-based projects
A strong understanding of physical metallurgy and excellent communication skills are required. Preferred candidates will also have an advanced degree in materials science and engineering, metallurgy, or a related field; experience with thermodynamic & kinetic (i.e., Thermo-Calc & DICTRA software), process-structure, structure-property, quantum mechanical models; laboratory skills related to materials processing, characterization, and testing; good engineering design and problem solving skills; and a background in the metals, aerospace, energy, defense, or related industries.
