Materials & Chemistry Centre (MACC) is an independent department within Alfa Laval working exclusively with materials and chemistry related questions. MACC is divided into three departments; Engineering Materials, Chemistry & Corrosion and Material Standards.
We are now looking for a polymer material specialist to the Engineering Materials department in Tumba, to replace a person that has decided to leave Alfa Laval.
MACC is an independent support function within Alfa Laval. We are working with material related commissions close to R&D, purchase, production, market segments and also from external companies.
Some commissions are finished within a few days, while others extend over a longer period of time.
Typical tasks for the position will be:
• Failure investigations of customer claims
• Give advice in material selection
• Perform mechanical and physical testing and evaluate aging behavior
• Perform chemical analysis, e.g. FTIR, DSC, TG and SEM
• Implement legislation, directives or standards for polymeric material in contact with food or biotech products on Alfa Laval equipment and material
• Acts as material specialist in concept and product development project.
We believe that you have at least some years of experience of similar work combined with a University degree in Material science or equivalent.
Experience about legislation, directives or standards for polymeric material in contact with food or biotech products is qualifying.
To be successful you have to be open-minded, accurate, analytical and a good team-player.
