Position description
As a material planner in the Vara plant you will be responsible for the procurement of material based on proposals from our MRP-system related to your specific suppliers. You will also be responsible for monitor potential material shortages as well as sending delivery plans to the suppliers. Another important part of your role will be to participate and contribute on meetings, work with continuous improvements and develop your suppliers and processes.
You will provide a high level of customer service by ensuring parts are ordered and delivered on-time to meet production's build requirements. You will give regular, accurate and timely feedback to relevant stakeholders on delivery issues. In our MRP-system you will verify and secure correct parameter settings and master data.
You will be a part of the planning and procurement department, an engaged team of logistic professionals that are committed to the needs of both internal and external customers. In Penta we believe that high performance comes from employee engagement, diversity and having fun at work.
In the Vara plant, a part of the Global Operations & Quality, 300 employees manufacture marine and stationary diesel engines. Vara is also the distribution center for the European market.
About you
You hold a university degree within logistic or equivalent and have work experience within industrial manufacturing related to procurement or planning. You need to be fluent in Swedish and English and have a clear customer focus combined with high responsiveness. It is important that you have strong analytical skills, the ability to be proactive and to take your own initiative. Preferably you also have experience of MRP systems, transport booking and LEAN methodologies.
To be successful in this position you need to be service minded, well organized and have excellent communication and networking skills. But most of all you are a true team player and you contribute with good team spirit.
