We are now looking for an experienced materials engineer to strengthen our team within the area of failure analysis.

With this position you will have the opportunity to work with the state-of-the-art material alloys for turbine applications. You will gain an extensive knowledge in identifying fracture mechanisms, perform temperature estimations and judge possible environmental factors to support the identification of failure causes. Your daily work will consist of both theoretical and practical work in our materials lab. You will be performing material analysis and status examinations of our gas turbine, steam turbine and heat pump components. The work will also consist of contact and collaboration with other Siemens departments, locally and globally, and meetings with end customers and their representatives. We work with several external suppliers and revisions and quality control of their work will be included in your responsibilities.



How You'll Make an Impact

You will be a part of and driving the area of failure analysis of our gas turbine, steam turbine and heat pump components. You will be an important part of the puzzle when solving complex issues and responsible for caring out material investigations and status examinations. The work will be both theoretical and practical. You will also participate in customer meetings and visits. Therefore, some travel will be needed.



What You Bring

You have a relevant university education and work-related experience regarding failure analysis. It is preferable to have knowledge of gas turbine materials such as Ni-based super alloys. You easily plan, organize and present your work and collaborate both within the department as well as with other internal and external functions.



About the Team

The materials and chemistry technology department are responsible for development and testing of new and existing materials, technical support for procurement, sales, service departments as well as supporting the R&D and Service organization in topics within materials technology and chemistry. Today the department consists of 18 full time employees and 10 contractors with different backgrounds and experiences.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
