Your future challenge
At Saab, we want to enable software development for the various projects in our organization, on a safe, optimized and flexible environment. We want our co-workers to be able to work from their home and still have access to all our pooled resources. We want to remove dependencies on local hardware availabilities and minimize the risk of operating on monitored networks while negating the possibility of data-theft. Currently, the solution for us is spelled virtualization. With our virtual development centre we have achieved a high availability environment containing all the crucial tools for development on a large number of platforms. By centralizing our development recourses we can offer our co-workers a more powerful and complete environment without compromising security or accessibility.

Our system offers a large number of platforms including several Windows versions and Linux-distributions The perceived performance of our system relies heavily the overall ability of relaying graphical information from the centralized system out to where our developer is located at the moment. At the moment, this aspect of our solution is not optimized.
Today's demand
We are currently looking for a master-thesis student to help us in examining what can be done to optimize and enhance graphics forwarding on our virtualized system using our chosen setup.
The task is to first set up a benchmark for these trials using different protocols comparable to the one currently in use. Understand, document, present and proceed to develop a solution given the constraints of our system.
