hela Sverige Volvo Group Trucks Operations is undergoing a digital transformation enabling us to manufacture the next generation of heavy-duty trucks. This fall, the Tuve assembly plant in Gothenburg will start serial production of electric trucks. The plant is designed to produce highly customized trucks on a single line concept. The plant is now transforming and becoming even more digitalized by introducing One Operation Interface (1OI). 1OI will, in the future, be the single access point for decision support for operators, team leaders, production leaders etc. The interface is a key enabler to handle increased complexity and to allow data driven decisions

Description of thesis work
One Operation Interface is currently being developed and first pilots were run during the spring. As we are applying the concept of the fishbone factory, the scope of this thesis is to investigate, design and develop a new concept for how we as a plant can utilize 1OI in both the main assembly line, but also in our pre-assembly stations. With our digitalization strategy we will become a paperless factory which allows us to improve cognitive ergonomics and provide role based and situation-based decision support.
The assignment of this thesis includes:
Investigate how the content of 1OI differs to current decision support in the plant.
Interview operators, team leaders etc., with focus on current cognitive ergonomics.
Based on the features and prerequisites to deploy 1OI in a work cell, design and develop a concept on how overall decision support can be implemented in a work cell.
Test and evaluate the developed concept.
