About the master thesis/internship
In line with Svea's expansion, the Utility department is focusing on large scale ground mount and rooftop projects thus having a key role for future growth. The department has built Sweden's largest solar farm twice and is now expanding its footprint into new markets all over Europe.

The challenge

As projects are getting larger and more complex it is getting even more important to optimise every part of the asset to achieve to lowest LCOE. The PV industry is a fast-moving market with continuous development of new panels, mounting systems and other hardware. For each individual project different inputs need to be considered such as irradiation, technology, grid constraints, CAPEX and electricity price. The optimal solution will be different for every project and critical to achieve the highest bottom line value realisation.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Create methodologies and tools for techno-economic assessments of PV plants, preferably delivered as scalable and adaptable excel tools
• Modelling of PV systems assessing yield and optimal layouts

The tools will be tested and evaluated on a continuous basis against ongoing projects and developments and is expected to have a substantial impact on core activities in the utility team.

Location and duration

The thesis/internship is to take place at headquarters in Sollentuna, Stockholm during the first half of 2021. Exact start and end date is flexible.
