Responsibilities
Success factors for an electrical engineer for critical operating environment:
A strong will ingness and ability to learn, grow and develop new skills
Embrace and develop a culture of good work environment, safety and procedures following and rules for all aspects of work in data centers.
Understand the design and functionality of your data center.
Work with a team of IT professionals and critical operating environments to operate and maintain the 24x7x365 data center and mechanical infrastructure.
Provides a technical expert for 24x7x365 data center operation and large-scale machine installation.
Work together with the operations and design teams to develop data center (DC) mechanical designs, from project concept to design order for new data center projects and major infrastructure upgrades.
Establish and coordinate maintenance and safety procedures, maintenance of high-capacity cooling systems, operation and maintenance of backup systems for electricity supply (diesel generators, engine generator UPS, etc.)
Manage the vital infrastructure that underpins Microsoft's online services.
Assist with selection of suppliers and supplier management in the area.
Qualification requirements
University degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, process engineering or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience in mission-critical systems and installations in relevant areas.
Very good knowledge of Swedish standards for machine safety.
Desirable qualifications
Very good knowledge in mission-critical equipment for data centers.
Extensive experience in the operation of heating and cooling systems (centrifugal coolers, cooling water, adiabatic cooling, heat storage systems, CRAH/CRAC, etc.)
Experience of alternative, energy efficient methods and chemical methods for water management.
Understanding of maintenance and operation of backup systems for critical operating environments. (Diesel generators, coolers, ventilation systems, fuel tanks, protective systems, etc.)
Knowledge in design, terminology and documentation (ability to interpret drawings, electrical line diagrams, etc.)
Practical experience of real estate control systems and automation, controls and frameworks.
