UMC are looking for an ambitious and multifaceted Marketing / Outreach Specialist to strengthen and expand our Outreach team.
Join us in spreading the word about a selection of our unique and trusted products and services, serving the global pharmaceutical industry and other stakeholders in developing safe medicines. We are looking for a driven and innovative marketing specialist, inspired by the variety of work tasks as well as the opportunity of professional and personal development on offer.

The team
The Outreach team at UMC, newly established and growing, focuses on generating income through raising awareness of our globally available products and services, building customer retention and influencing how our brands are perceived. Whether a newsletter, an event, a brochure, or a presentation, the intent is always to present UMC as fair, professional, efficient, and problem-solving.

The team is involved in all product marketing phases, from launches to broad awareness campaigns, and in caring for and serving our extensive user communities, consisting of pharmaceutical industry and health care professionals.

The team works closely with product management and customer engagement teams internally, as well as with external stakeholders, such as the users of our products and services, and collaborators.

Another focus area for the team is to collect market data and transform it into meaningful insights that will guide strategic product development decisions and effective business strategies.

The role
As a Marketing / Outreach Specialist you will work on the entire lifecycle of marketing activities for selected UMC products and services. As a content creator, you will collect, create, review and edit marketing and information material for our products and services based on set goals, strategies and the needs of our clients and users.

What you will do

- Support the entire product marketing process;
- Produce content for marketing campaigns and marketing material;
- Work with programmes for new customers;
- Coordinate product launches;
- Plan and facilitate logistics for face-to-face and virtual events and conferences;
- Develop original copy for marketing emails, social media platforms, print advertisements and the UMC website;
- Measure the impact of campaigns and turn sales and marketing data into insights and improvements

Your qualifications

- At least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Fluency in written and spoken English

What you will need to succeed

- To be successful in this role, you need to have had hands-on experiences in marketing and content production
- You are self-driven and result oriented, with an eye for detail
- You have excellent oral and written communication skills, and a desire to deliver above and beyond service and support

It is an advantage if you:

- are fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, or other languages
- have documented professional copywriting and/or graphic design skills
- have experience in working with data-driven marketing, marketing automation and search engine optimisation (SEO)
- have experience from the global health care sector or pharmaceutical industry

Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) is a centre for international service and scientific research in the field of pharmacovigilance. We are the WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring, and manage the technical and operational aspects of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring since 1978.

As an independent, non-profit foundation, we support the World Health Organization, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders who share our vision of advancing medicines safety. Through research and development of new scientific methods, we explore the benefits and harms of medicines for patients, and offer products and services used by health authorities and the pharmaceutical industry worldwide.
