About the role
The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and executing local marketing communications activities and supporting the execution of central marketing communications programs to help deliver results against business objectives and priorities. The role will specifically oversee the production and distribution of all marketing communication materials and to help build and advance product sales and the Avantor brand.

The role will also support the localization of centrally managed campaigns, ensuring that channels and messaging is adapted to local audience needs and will support with tracking and monitoring campaign performance. The Marketing Communications Specialist will apply and govern marketing communications processes and best practices as defined by the Marketing Communications Manager and Global Communications Centers of Excellence.

The Marketing Communications Specialist will work closely with in-country sales leaders, portfolio specialists, the events and digital teams to ensure timely and accurately delivery of communications and supporting tools. The role will report to the Campaigns Lead, Region North.

This role is a parental substitute from april-september 2023. You will work 3-5 days a week.

In your role as Marketing Communcations Specialist your main tasks will include:
• Plan and execute marketing communications activities as required by the region, country or Avantor business segments.
• Ensure localization of marketing communications programs and campaigns, tailoring content and communication channels to local audience preferences and needs.
• Coordinate mailings and distribution of European publications and digital actions with creation and extraction of mailing list from the CRM Athena
• Support new product and supplier launches in the country with appropriate workflow for designated business segments, including timely development of collateral in partnership with our in-house creative services team.
• Maintain literature management resources and tools.
• Prepare internal sales communications to raise awareness of upcoming product promotions and campaigns
• Advise and brief events team on country event needs and program planning to drive customer engagement and support sales pipelines.
• Track performance of campaigns and campaign tactics (e-newsletters, website content, PR share of voice for articles and interviews, and related metrics) in geographic area of focus.
• Act as overall project manager for in-country marketing communications programs and campaigns, coordinating input and deliverables of functional experts (portfolio, marketing, legal, creative services, events) involved in campaign planning, development and execution.
• Review and validate localized content, when and where appropriate.
• Brief and liaise with regional suppliers on required support, ensuring both timely delivery and that all deliverables meet quality standards.
• Routinely report progress on marketing communications initiatives to commercial and regional campaigns and communication leads.
• Support collection of key performance indicators and actively propose and participate in continuous improvement opportunities
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About you
We are looking for a candidate with a bachelor 's degree in marketing, business, communications or equivalent experience. Due to Avantors core business, a bachelor 's degree in Science could also be relevant. We would like you to have 5-7 years of experience in marketing communications, preferably in B2B product environments.The role requires strong planning and coordination skills with the ability to prioritize. A sense of urgency, calmness under pressure, resilience, and flexibility is essential. You should be capable of working autonomously while engaging others as needed and be a strong team player.

Important for the role:
• Excellent writing and presentation skills in English and Swedish. An additional language is a plus.
• Bachelor 's Degree (Masters preferred) in Marketing, Business, Communications or equivalent experience.
• Good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work in a complex matrix environment
• Digitally-driven, with understanding of digital and social media platforms and demonstrated ability in developing and driving creative, engaging content, as well as analyzing analytics
• Good understanding of communications channels
• Enthusiasm for implementing new communications technologies
