Market Area Europe Logistics Manager

The department Parts Supply & Logistic within Volvo Car Group has a global part and accessories supply chain responsibility from supplier to dealer. Today we have a Central Distribution Centre in Gothenburg and support our 46 warehouses that are spread out over the world. We own the stock value and the processes for how the logistics will be handled, while a third party supplier manages the actual execution. With four different Market Areas: Europe, China, US and International we are aiming for a standardised and cost effective distribution strategy.
The Market Area Europe Manager is responsible for parts and accessories distribution from our Central Distribution Centre (CDC) to importers and dealers in Europe. In this role you will have an operational responsibility for the control of our 28 warehouses across Europe that are operated by third party suppliers. Today the department consists of an order office and Regional Logistic Manager teams located in different countries in Europe. You will have the personnel responsibility over the managers of these teams. As Logistic Manager you will reports to the PS&L Director and the position is located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Main responsibilities

• MAE Parts and Accessories distribution and returns coordination from Central Distribution Centre to dealer - this also includes other products that are distributed and returned within Volvo Car Group PS&L supply chain
• Set up and deliver according to Logistic Operational Agreement (Local Distribution Centre pre-planning, availability, lead time, Volvo Managed Inventory and other relevant KPI) with each Sale Company within Europe
• Control, coordinate and follow up of cost and service for Local Distribution Centre operations that are controlled by Volvo Car Group
• Input to demand on transport purchasing, including follow up of cost and service level agreements for transports
• Order- and Export Coordination within MAE including Vehicle Off Road and Local Distribution Centre backorder handling
• Initiate and be responsible for studies, projects and other development activities within the responsibility of MAE to support the PS&L Strategic Agenda
• Responsible for that benchmarking activities are performed regarding total Logistic cost per market, warehouse productivity and other KPI's within the area

Required qualifications

• University degree with Logistics specialisation or likewise experience
• Good knowledge and experience from the aftermarket supply chain & process and its effect on the business
• Well documented leader experience
• Solid experience from leading and steering larger projects
• Fluent in written and spoken English
