Opportunity Management at Sandvik Coromant is responsible for, among other things, identifying new business opportunities. The department is a part of Product Management and functions as a competence centre for strategic market analysis of new business segments and product portfolio analysis. The reports and skills sets are used within the organization for a variety of tactical and strategic purposes. We are now looking for a Market Analyst within Growth Segments who is ready for an exciting and challenging career opportunity where the ability to analyze trends, competitive initiatives and technological advances are rewarded. The position is based in Sandviken.
Key performance areas
As a Market Analyst you will assist in the development of business cases to assess potential initiatives by performing market research, financial modeling, and competitive assessments. You will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope and will require a high degree of your own personal commitment from start to finish in order to execute business objectives. You will also have the ability to affect short-term and long-term goals as a result of your findings. Your main tasks include segment analysis and business case development. Keeping abreast of market opportunities, emerging business models and trends, you will track secondary research sources and translate findings into actionable projects.
Since you will work a lot together with other functions, such as Top Management, Business Development, R&D, Subsidiaries and Universities, it is essential that you are a genuine team player.
Your profile
You have a track record in business development or related work (e.g., creation of business plans) with proven results. You are a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills who can dissect complex issues and make thoughtful recommendations and develop action plans. Strong initiative and creative problem solving skills are essential, as well as good understanding of the manufacturing industry. Knowledge of the cutting tool industry is an advantage.
A proven ability to persuade, build consensus and work on a collaborative team basis with all levels of management, internally and externally is a prerequisite, as are exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and convey a compelling vision and strategy that motivate. You also have education in engineering or business administration. The position requires fluent English, both written and verbal, and involves international contacts and travelling.
