You will belong to the Carton Bottle & Gable Top and Tetra Recart organisation, based in Lund. We are responsible for the development and life-cycle management for part of Tetra Pak's Filling Equipment Portfolio.
As a Manufacturing Technology Specialist you are responsible for accurate part and machine cost calculations and to drive cost discussions with suppliers together with Supply Managers and relevant Technical Specification Owners.
You are also responsible for mentoring and training of the Mechanical Designers, to help and inspire them to take the manufacuring aspects into consideration during the devlopment work.
Main responsibilities
• Lead and mentor the designers to reach most cost-efficient design, while fulfilling the functional requirements
• Deliver and track machine part and machine cost calculations
• Be the "super user" of the software(s) used by designers to calculate should-cost
• Support Supply Management in negotiations and discussions with suppliers related to part and machine cost
• Analyse supplier feed-back related to quality and cost and feedback relevant information for engineering actions
• Keep updated competence in relevant manufacturing technologies, such as cutting, milling, turning, welding and surface treatments in materials like stainless steel, aluminum and plastics.
Qualifications
To be successful in this position we believe that you have a Bachelor of Science or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or similiar competence aquired by experience. You have at least 8 years work experience, preferably from similar roles or from leadership roles in mechanical workshops or cost engineering functions. A good command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is necessary.
We believe that you have a strong personal drive for results and the ability to build networks and relationships. You can defend your viewpoints, supported by facts, when challenged. You are organised and can handle multiple tasks in a large matrix organisation. If you also enjoy sharing your knowledge with others and have ideas of how to reach lower manufacturing cost this might be the job for you!
