GTO Quality & Engineering is a global function that develops product and process solutions, leading to operational excellence. More specific, following areas are our key focus:
• Develop long-term plans and strategies for Quality & Environment to deliver on Volvo/ GTO commitments
• Lead the development of global strategies and plans for manufacturing processes
• Establish clear product requirements and be the interface to Group Trucks Technologies. Co-develop the product and process solutions
• Develop and implement global way of working within Quality and Engineering
• Develop global expertise and resources in critical competence areas
• Act in close co-operation with GTO Plants to efficiently develop and deliver services and products with the right Quality, Delivery time and Cost
We are now looking for a Manufacturing Strategy Manager (MSM) within the Electrical Area.

In this role you will be reporting to the Director SW&EE Technology in GTO Q&E.
As Manufacturing Strategy Manager you will be part of a global team responsibility for defining, developing and implementing GTO strategies within the Electrical Assembly area such as System Topologies, Wiring/Harness topologies incl. future growth, Component Location, Interface overview, Grounding and Power supply etc.

Mission
• To be the GTO interface towards GTT, functioning as the counterpart of the Global Technology Managers (GTM) in corresponding product areas and the GTO representative in defined Systems and Component Teams
• To be actively involved in the early phases of product technology development including Advanced Engineering projects and development of Product System Roadmaps (PSR)
• To secure global alignment of product technology and process roadmaps across the GTO regions, mainly the North America Manufacturing, Europe and Brazil Manufacturing and International Manufacturing
• To support GTO project managers in the creation and implementation of project prerequisites and driving requirements
• To work in close cooperation with the Manufacturing Technology Managers and Specialists, supporting them in the development of process related visions and strategies
Main activities and responsibilities
• Drive the development of GTO product-related strategies (e.g. Physical Modules, Marriage Points)
• Cooperate with GTM's in GTT and the cross functional System and Component Teams regarding Manufacturing strategies and Product System Roadmaps
• Early phases and Advanced Engineering initiatives
• Concept evaluation and selection
• Support the development of the Process Platform by influencing the Product strategies and roadmaps
• Define and develop project prerequisites and driving requirements
• Represent GTO in the GTT Commodity Platform Committee
• Drive benchmark activities with regard to the link between product and production process
• Anchoring of product concepts with regard to process with the three regions
• Benchmark and provide best practice mapping internally and externally within the technology area
• Provide input to technology roadmap based on identified business potentials
• Provide technical solutions according to technology roadmap

Experience and competence
• Engineering University degree or equivalent
• Able to demonstrate a clear vision, global mindset and successful people & culture leadership
• Formal training in leadership, communication and people skills
• Autonomy and proactiveness
• Agile development and SAFe methodology knowledge is a benefit
• Able to demonstrate successful international business experience within a global network
• Very good product knowledge regarding the Electrical Assembly area and understanding of the EE architecture
• Detailed production process knowledge related to Electrical Assembly
• As a minimum 5 years of line management or project management experience
• Experience from early project phases /advanced engineering
• Very good understanding of the truck business
• Experience in VPS tools and practice
• As all documentation is in English, proficiency in the English language is required
