The Engine Development department within Volvo CE is the centre for development of off-road engines and engine auxiliary components. We are responsible for the mechanical design, performance development and the auxiliary component development of the engines installed in our Construction Equipment, e.g. Articulated Haulers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders and Road & Utility Machinery.

As our product portfolio continues to grow, the need of our off-road engines within Volvo CE has never been higher. To maintain our world leading position we need to keep a high capacity and competence within several areas.

Manger within the Engine performance team

Position Description
The Engine Performance department (Organizational Level 4) is responsible for the optimisation of the engine and its subsystems regarding performance, emissions, fuel consumption, drivability and diagnosis. We are also responsible for all engine SW releases. The team is divided into two main subparts (Level 5):

The Engine & Machine Application team is responsible for the engine application/calibration activities normally performed in engine test rigs, machines and virtual test rigs.

The Performance Engineering team is responsible for engine simulation, HW optimisation, SW deliveries and also the planning of all performance related activities performed within the department.

One of our Level 5 managers has decided to move forward within the organisation and we are now looking for his successor.

Manager within the Engine Performance team
As a manager you will handle a team of 15-20 highly skilled and ambitious engineers coming from various parts of the world. You will be responsible for engine performance related activities normally performed in the engine test rigs, machines and virtual environment. An important part of your work will be to secure a very high quality and precision in our deliveries by driving a strong and continuous development of our competences, processes and tools.

Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:
• M.Sc.
• Deep understanding of internal combustion engines and exhaust after treatment systems
• Experience in engine performance development
• Experience of leading people
• Planning, coordination and communication
• High ability to take initiatives
• Emission legislation
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Experience of participating in global teams
• Travel up to 10%
