Corporate Communication is part of Public Affairs at Volvo Cars. The department is responsible for managing internal and external communications globally for Volvo Car Corporation.
The position reports to Senior Manager, Internal Communication
Agenda Magazine is a global magazine for all employees at Volvo Car Corporation. The magazine is currently printed in three languages - Swedish, English and Dutch - and published 6 times per year. Agenda Magazine is produced by Corporate Communication in cooperation with external agency.
Agenda Magazine aims to:
Portray and explain the corporate strategy as well as the global business of the company - from product development and manufacturing to markets and sales.
Describe and strengthen the company identity, brand and culture
Provide more in-depth information compared with news stories published on the company Intranet.
Support and encourage the internal dialogue
Description:
The role as Managing Editor for Agenda Magazine involves strategic communication work where you will plan the long term content of the magazine in close cooperation with the Senior Manager Internal Communication and external agency. You will act as a project leader for the editorial work in producing the magazine from concept to finished product. It also entails the editorial role for the news extra Agenda Special, published at special occasions.
Main tasks:
Overall responsible for planning, production and development of Agenda Magazine, i.e. plan the content, manage editorial meetings, allocate interview assignments, and coordinate with photographers, quality assurance of texts, facts and the end product.
Responsible for budget and cost follow up.
Responsible for reader contacts and reader surveys.
Coordination of the magazine content with other communication channels within Public Affairs, especially VCC News / Agenda Online.
Qualifications:
University education - in the area of journalism and/or communication
Ability to express yourself very well verbally and in writing - both in Swedish and English
Good knowledge of Volvo Cars' business and products
Strategic way of thinking in terms of communication
Elegant writer and creative personality
Previous experience of production of newspaper, magazine and printed matters
Previous experience of project management
Ability to express a complicated message in a way that makes it understandable for the receiver
Positive mindset, high integrity and sound judgment
