WHAT WILL YOU DO? The Windows & Linux platform department is a part of the IT Infrastructure Group. Our combined responsibility is to provide and maintain a secure, reliable and effective global IT infrastructure at Axis. Among many other things, we design and maintain Axis server & virtualization platforms, network, storage & backup, security, remote access, cloud platforms and phone systems. We also work closely with R&D to design and implement the infrastructure and services used in our commercial offerings.
As manager for the Windows & Linux platform department you will be managing a team of senior experts that self-driven and independent. The team is directly responsible for developing and maintaining the Windows/Linux platform and the services running there, all in all about 1500 servers globally.
Your role will involve:
• Serve as a liaison between the team and the organisation
• Coordinate and plan activities and budget for the team
• Close cooperation with other managers within Information System
• Motivate and engage a highly skilled technical team
• Appraisal talks, employee development, recruitment
With responsibility for over sixty sites around the world, direct involvement in the commercial offering and always striving to stay independent from consultants by keeping expert knowledge in-house, we are not your typical IT department.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We believe that you feel at home in a global, ever changing IT environment and the complexity that comes with, and that you have several years of working experience as a manager or in a leadership position, preferably in an IT environment. In addition to that we are looking for someone who is a team player but can work independently if needed. Most important you are an open and driven person with a genuine interest in your job, service minded and communicative.
THE MAIN SKILLS WANTED ARE:
• Networking capabilities and strong relationship management
• The ability to motivate and engage a highly skilled technical team
• Efficient problem solver and team builder
• Self-motivated
• Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English
• Comprehensive understanding of the complexities in a global IT environment
