Business Unit Training & Simulation develops and manufactures training systems mainly for military users. Our offer is wide ranging and includes the provision of world leading laser simulators for live training, force on target applications, virtual simulation capabilities and training services. Training & Simulation operates globally with 600 employees in twelve different countries.
We are looking for a line manager to help strengthen two of our software development teams. As a manager for Windows and Apps Software you will be responsible for two software development teams of about 15 persons.
Your role
* You will lead teams of software and test engineers.
* As a line manager you will support the teams in conducting development activities.
* You also take an active part in improving the way work is conducted to further improve the performance of the group.
* You will lead your team according to Saab values Drive, Expertise and Trust.
* You will report to the Head of Windows and Apps Software.
* You are also responsible for personnel related matters such as securing the competence of the team, recruiting personnel as required; evaluate team member performance and setting salaries and working environment.
Your profile
To thrive in this role, you are proactive and take full responsibility for allocated tasks. You can easily create trust within the organization and are used to efficiently collaborate with team members. You are open to new ideas, lead by example, inspires others to grow in their respective role and take on new responsibilities.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
Required skills
* University degree with computer science background
* Proven leadership qualities and experience of leading people, with particular focus on HOW. That is a strong value-based leadership in accordance with Saab values.
* Skills in communicating effectively across different teams, countries and cultures.
* Willingness and proven ability to manage complexity and to drive change
* Strong technical interest
* Structured in your work
* Show drive, be pro-active and have ability for self-management.
* Fluent in both written and spoken English
The position as Manager Windows and Apps Software is based at our headquarters in Huskvarna, Sweden.
What you will be a part of
You will collaborate with experienced engineers and professionals in an environment that fosters career development and personal growth. You will be part of the Training & Simulation unit who develops and manufactures training systems mainly for military users. The team you will join consists primarily of software engineers based in Huskvarna.
