In Volvo Cars, internally, we are now looking for a candidate who is prepared to take on a manager role for the Testing Chassis & Propulsion Installation group at the Strength & Endurance centre.

Who are we?

Strength & Endurance Centre is a section within the department Craftsmanship & Durability that are responsible for the requirement setting and ensuring the two attributes Strength & Endurance and Mechanical Theft Protection. As a competence center, we provide engineering and projects with technical recommendations and requirements. We also perform analysis and verification tasks, both virtually and physically, from concept phase to maintenance and running production at complete vehicle, system and component levels.

The group Testing Chassis & Propulsion Installation is responsible for component and system physical testing of wheel and engine suspension within the area of strength and endurance. The work is manly performed as laboratory testing in the strength and endurance lab. The team consists of experienced engineers with different expert competencies e g fatigue analysis, vibration testing and screw joining. In the laboratory, the work is done in close cooperation with test engineers and mechanics from the department Analysis and Verification Environments.

What you'll do

As a manager for the group Testing Chassis & Propulsion Installation, you will need to take on the responsibility to deliver in accordance to the business plan, policies and procedures at Volvo Car Corporation. You will lead and develop the personnel, test activities and processes.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute in the section Strength and Endurance Centre management team that defines goals, strategies, OD projects, etc.

You and your skills

We believe you have a Master of Science in Mechanical engineering or other equivalent education with relevant working experience. You have proven leadership skills and at least 5 years of experience from product development and/or testing.



Good knowledge about mechanics, dynamics and strength of materials corresponding master level courses are necessary to take on this role. You also need to be fluent in English, written and spoken, and have a driving license "B", valid in Sweden.

It would be beneficial to have some CAE experience, such as structural analysis and knowledge from other attribute areas such as NVH, Vehicle Dynamics. Experience from product development within Vehicle Hardware is also meritorious.
