System Design
System Design is responsible for designing Saabs surface based radar products, that meet customer needs in a time of change and advancement. The department is translating requirements and establishing proper conditions in early stages, then works closely with sub systems departments to ensure all different domains come together and create full-scale intelligent radar products. The department has around 50 employees divided into four groups.
Saab is on a transformation journey, evolving from a hardware company towards a more pronounced software company. This affects all departments and System Design has the important job of setting the right conditions and therefore plays a prominent role in this transition!
Your Role
As System Design Manger you will coach and lead your team towards common strategic goals and operational excellence. As a manager you are responsible for project deliveries, budget, employee wellbeing and competence planning in our stimulating and developing working environment. A vital part of your role will be driving the improvement in software architecture on a system level. Emphasizing collaboration and new ideas in the team will also be important factors in order to be successful.
Here, you will lead the team working with our radar products Giraffe AMB and Arthur. The group consists of 10-15 system engineers who are specialist in different parts of our products that includes sensor, software, hardware, antenna/ frequence and electricity / power. You work in close cooperation with other departments within Surface Design, as well as with Project and Product management and Marketing and Sales department.
You will be a valued colleague and member of the System Design management team. The leadership team works closely together, and each member contributes with their individual experiences and strengths. You will report to Head of System Design.

Surface Sensors Solutions is a Business Unit within Saab Surveillance that has more than 1000 employees globally; with center of gravity in Sweden, USA and UK. The business unit provides ground-based and naval radar and electronic surveillance solutions, with the responsibility to develop the Surface Sensor portfolio and execute projects to the highest standard.
