Job Purpose
Manage the global Strategic Sourcing team for the so called VBC components.
The team consists of 7 Sourcing buyers located at different VBC sites with global business responsibilities.

The Sourcing manager will be accountable for achieving the purchasing objectives in accordance with the regional needs.
Report to the Vice President, Strategic Purchasing and be a member of the Strategic Purchasing Management Team (SPMT)

Main Responsibilities
• Drive the development of sourcing strategies and supplier selections, secure global synergies and fulfil regional demands.
• Collect information about market dynamics (new technologies)
• Manage the interactions with Engineering in development of technical roadmaps, AE, SIPD etc
• Lead the work to negotiate and sign supplier agreements
• Validate sourcing cases to be presented in the defined sourcing decision bodies
• Manage the overall supplier relationships
• Appoint segment owners and supplier hosts within the department
• Manage the development of staff under supervision
• Work in accordance with the Global Purchasing processes, the Volvo Way and Volvo Group corporate values.
Required skills, experience and competencies
• University degree in Business Administration and/or Engineering
• Experience of leading people in a business context
• Strong negotiator with 5-10 years of purchasing experience within the automotive industry
• Experience of remote direct management in an international environment
• Business understanding and customer focus
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Fluent in English
