In this role you be responsible for leading and implementing Operational Excellence and Quality related strategies, initiatives, and projects for the local business unit. Your mission will be to ensure a strong quality culture and effective ways of working, lead the operational development program to work with continuous improvements, and make sure the management system is relevant and effective.

You will be head of the Operational Excellence (OpEx) and Quality department within PGGI System Integration in Västerås. We design and deliver complete substations for distribution and transmission grids. Our turnkey substation projects mainly comprise high and medium voltage apparatus, transformers, protection and control systems, auxiliary power systems as well as civil, construction and erection work. You will report directly to the Local Product Group Manager and functionally to the HUB Northern Europe Q & OpEx Manager.

The OpEx and Quality Manager is the owner of the unit's management system and is accountable for ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 5001, OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001, as well as customer and ABB demands. Furthermore, you will be responsible for securing an effective way of working and to provide necessary support to managers, projects, and supply, in order to secure quality through the whole value chain.

You will ensure continuous improvements as well as implementation of large improvement projects. The role includes being the speaking partner for IS/IT, office space, security and information security. You will also monitor and report progress and work within the quality networks at ABB. You will proactively resolve issues that come up and ensure that proper development actions are taken.

Lastly, you will have people leadership responsibilities. As the manager of a team of specialists you will make sure that the OpEx and Quality area is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. This role includes guiding, motivating, and developing direct and indirect subordinates. You are also responsible for coordinating OpEx and Quality talent management and succession planning.

You enjoy leading, motivating and developing people, and are used to building strong relationships. Experience with leading change management initiatives and proven insights on how change affects individuals will be strongly preferred. You are highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, and enjoy the challenge to make your team thrive and deliver excellent results.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or business administration, with a minimum of 5 years of experience within relevant fields. Experience from internal audits, SixSigma, DMAIC, LAMDBA or similar methods is considered additional value. You have leadership experience, preferably with staff responsibility, and display strong communication skills in addition to strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Furthermore, you must be proficient in Swedish and English, written and spoken alike.
