Product Management and R&D specialize in modeling of hard materials and the metal cutting process, and supports the product development within Coromant, both in Sandviken and at other sites globally. Our aim is to make our work more knowledge-based, and we are looking for a Manager of Metal Cutting Modeling to join us on this journey. This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to take part in building and influencing new ways of working - and, thereby, play a key role in our future success.
The location for this position is in Sweden, either at our site in Sandviken or in Västberga, Stockholm.
Key performance areas
As Manager for Metal Cutting Modeling, you lead and support the team through various projects and activities, and you are accountable for the department's operational work - including goals, financial monitoring, investments, quality assurance, safety and environment. You are responsible for both short and long-term competence development and the department's resources in its area of competence. You develop and offer competency platforms based on the technology strategy and roadmaps, and you create and promote an environment that develops both employees and the department's competency platforms. Lastly, you represent the unit in decision-making meetings - promoting the value of our work to the rest of the organization.
One to two travel days per week, between Sandviken and Västberga, are required in this position.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a solid background in modeling and simulations and, preferably, also a PhD in a relevant field. You have knowledge of the latest technology content in modeling, as well as, broad knowledge of a range of modeling methods, such as materials structures and FEM modeling of cutting tools. Proven leadership ability and project management experience is important to succeed in this position, and, as we operate in an international setting, your skills in Swedish and English must be advanced, both verbally and in writing.
