Data is a new function within Group IT with the goal to unlock the power of data for the full Volvo Group to become a fully data-driven company! With data, the core component of our transformation journey, we will, together with our data talents, make the Volvo Group 2030 vision happen. We will take care of all the aspects of Data, how it is quality assured, documented, made available, prepared, and consumed through BI, Analytics and Machine Learning. We have an ambitious transformation in front of us, with an implementation of the Data Layer in Azure as well as the reinforcement of Data Governance and Data Management in the full Group.
We collaborate with other parts of the organization, both in Group IT, with TD/BAs and Group Functions. We foster an environment where ideas, thoughts and opinions can be shared. We are team players with clear common ambitions, and we win together.
In Data & AI foundation we focus on developing and implementing services for the state-of-the-art data platform for Volvo Group. We also enable the transition to Azure cloud from our legacy environments. We are organized into product teams on an agile journey exploring innovative technologies in data analytics.
This is how you could make an impact
As a Manager Data Replication & Ingestion, you will be key in establishing a solid technology base for our data platform, transforming from multiple on-premises technologies to a cloud analytics ecosystem. In this role, you will have the ability to establish services that will enable Volvo Group as a data-driven company. You will be part of Data & AI Foundation management team and report to the Head of Data & AI Foundation. These will be some selected responsibilities:
Own and manage services for data lakes, data warehouses & data marts within the product. securing they cover needed functionality (inc. Automation) and service level
Roll out and further enhance the Cloud unified data platform services within your product, which is the foundation of the Volvo Group data layer
Explore innovative technologies within the field needed to enable new analytics, for example graph databases
Enable the migration of on-prem solutions to Azure Cloud
Who are you?
We believe you want to take your career to the next level, working with amazing people around the world. To be successful in this position we believe you have a university degree or equivalent, and several years of experience from leading people preferably in IT??
In your previous roles, you have developed the technology strategy and roadmap for the area and managed the technology evolution through releases of new services. You are knowledgeable in covering the full scope of service development from frameworks and standards to configuration and automation, as well as from coding to setting up infrastructure. You are experienced in driving the priority setting and planning cycle for the product, including overall capacity management and resource allocation. As the role requires a strong networker, you have experience from leveraging vendors and partners in a strategic way to reach shared objectives.
The right candidate will be able to think and act strategically but also to operate and implement change tactically when required, dealing effectively with ambiguity, and managing changing priorities. You should be passionate about driving strategic & technological transformation in a business focused, fact-based, and collaborative way to achieve real impact. This role requires solid communication skills and a passion for leading, inspiring, and developing people.
In addition to this, you are a passionate believer in continuous learning. You should feel energized by working both independently and interdependently, have proven skills in cross-functional collaboration and thrive in managing, foster, and enable both the perform and the transform angles of the job.

The location for the position is flexible, with Wroclaw (PL), Gothenburg (SE), Gent (BE) or Lyon (FR) as preferred locations. Other main Group IT locations could be considered.
