What you'll do
The IP Network is a vital part of the infrastructure for an operator. In this role you will lead a team who perform the IP/MPLS and WDM network planning, design, development and maintenance for the three main services, B2B, B2C and Infra. Expectations on you as the leader of this team. will be to create focus, and momentum towards the challenging targets, a strong team empowered to build qualitative and sustainable technical solutions with focus on reliability, security, maintainability and life cycle management. Both the team you will be leading and the leadership team which you will be a part of are distributed on several geographical sites in Sweden.
Examples of your responsibilities:
* Lead, inspire and support a team of about seventeen skilled and engaged people in the IP Network group
* Be a contract owner and follow up on the suppliers for IP Network group and overlook the strategic planning for the future and plan investments
* Budget responsibility for the IP Network group within Digital Infrastructure
* Sourcing related work attached to the area of responsibility.
* As a manager for the IP Network group you will have many stakeholders. You are expected to work closely and collaborate efficiently with all of your stakeholders both within Digital Infrastructure, Telenor Networks Sweden, and the Nordic business units.
* In your role you will have the responsibility for the life cycle management of the services, applications/systems or solutions, for which you are expected to hold together the strategic plan and continuous improvement processes.
* You will be a part of a Leadership team where you will both represent your area of responsibility, and efficiently collaborate with, and support your peer managers. In the leadership team we also work together in the best interest of the whole Digital Infrastructure unit and it's targets.
Who are you
You are used to acting on your own initiative, making things happen and taking responsibility for the outcome. You are an understanding manager, a leader who works effectively with others, who support the group members in the pursuit of both common goals, as well as individual goals. You are experienced on quickly analyze complex questions and problems and clearly argue and propose reasonable ways forward. Furthermore, you are interested in continuously developing your knowledge in the area you are responsible for. You have the experience to work with teams designing, developing, and deploying state-of-the-art technology and innovations. If needed, you can respectfully challenge traditional approaches and you have the ability to promote change and adapt to change, and to new and inventive ideas and ways of work. You are an experienced and skilled communicator who communicates clearly verbally as well as in writing. We work in an agile set up and you would be a key contributor to nurture the empowering culture we aim to have.
We're looking for candidates who have:
* Master of Science in area related to Telecom or IT, or equivalent work experience
* Technical competence/experience in planning, design, development and maintenance of IP/MPLS and WDM Networks
* The ability to lead our continuous strive to evolve both our network and the handling of the network with help of automation and modern methods.
* You bring a positive and helpful attitude to the team you lead as well as the leadership team and you are ready to take decisions when needed
* Strong drive and proven record to accomplish goals, both on your own and together with a team.
* Fluency in Swedish and English (both written and verbal)
* Preferably 3-5 years' experience as a formal leader of a team, it could however be compensated with domain competence and a profound interest in developing your leadership.
* Experience from, or interest to develop competence with budget and sourcing related work
* Willingness to travel across the sites to an extent needed to support the people within your care and responsibility, the results of the unit, and to establish a sustainable collaboration with your peer colleagues and co-workers.
