Your role
As manager for the technical product management function of our combat system, you will play a key role in shaping the architecture of the business unit's largest product. Our combat system offer includes everything needed for turning a regular ship into a capable naval warship. From selection of weapons and sensors, through integration into our combat management system and acceptance and delivery to both national and international customers. As you perhaps can imagine, a solid product architecture is essential for us to be able to build stable, yet flexible systems, adapted to our customer 's individual needs. You will manage a team of senior architects and system engineers to figure out how to build this product.
Together with your team you will:
* Define architectural principles for the product
* Assume product line design authority and delegate design authority to the rest of the organization
* Build and maintain an architectural roadmap for the product
* Work in close collaboration with product management the ensure that we build the product right
* Support development teams within software, hardware and system with expertise and knowledge of the product architecture
Daily work will be varied; developing people, the product and ways-of-working. You will interact with customers, partners and sub suppliers as well as counterparts within Saab. We are a global operation with a global customer base, which also will give you the opportunity to travel in your role.
You will be a part of the Product Portfolio management team with the following main responsibilities:
* Technical Product management of our combat system product according to the description above
* Grow the technical product management section and appoint architects
* Over time, monitor, analyze and act upon the short and long-term need of competence to manage the product architecture
* Responsible for financial result and follow-up of the section

Your leadership and cooperation skills are what matters most. Your drive to develop this section to meet the organization's needs, both short and long-term, will be highly valued. Most likely you have a background in technical leadership supported by an academic degree in a relevant field. You also have good business acumen and are able to understand and translate business opportunities into technical decision making.
Required skills:
* Experience in technical product management and/or system architecture
* Ability to understand and guide both HW, SW and system engineering
* Good business acumen
* Interest in making things better
* An academic degree within a technical field
* Good communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written
Desired skills:
* Knowledge of combat systems
* Experience of leading leaders
Your personality and previous experience will play an important role in leading this section. Building relationships and gaining the trust of your stakeholders will be keys to succeed. The complexity requires many competences to deliver the wanted capability and this is a part of the challenge. Your interest to understand the business and wish to develop our ways-of-working will be of great importance. The focus will be to deliver on time with a transparent communication throughout the whole organization. Knowledge specifically of our 9LV Combat System product is a bonus.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
