At our R&D Materials and Technology Department in Fagersta, we develop the materials and process technology for the company's cutting tool inserts. The base material in these tools is a cemented carbide composite that is produced through powder metallurgy processes.
We are now looking for a manager to lead our development of raw materials and powders, compaction and sintering. Here you have the opportunity to work with a dedicated and skilled team in a progressive business and in close collaboration with product development and manufacturing.
Key performance areas
As Manager for Cemented Carbide Development, you are responsible for strategies, planning and execution in the associated technology areas. You lead the development using your own technical knowledge as well as by leading, motivating and developing your team. You deal with operational duties through active support of the team, as well as through an establishment of strong collaborative ties with other functions within and outside R&D.
In this role, you report to the Senior R&D Manager for Materials and Technology at Seco Tools.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with an MSc in Material Science, Physics or Chemistry and a PhD is meritorious. Your background includes working as a manager, project manager or team leader and you have at least 5 years' experience from materials development within relevant industry segments. As we operate in an international setting, you have very good communication skills in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

You have a genuine interest in materials development and enjoy working with versatile groups of people with different strengths and skills. You are strategic and organized, with a genuine interest in leadership and interaction with co-workers as well as the passion to inspire your team members.
