Power Quality technologies (FACTS) let power-grid owners increase existing system capacity while improving electrical stability.. As a result, more power reaches the customers at reduced environmental impact, shorter lead times, and lower costs.
To serve our growing market, we need to expand the Power Quality business unit. Our highly skilled teams sell, deliver, and service groundbreaking technology to customers globally.
This is a senior leadership role to lead Power Quality's engineering function of currently 150 employees and five direct reporting managers. The function expects to grow significantly in the next years.
This position is based in Västerås, open to hybrid work with three days per week in-office.
Your responsibilities
Set the strategic direction, lead, manage, and coordinate the engineering function across the Power Quality Unit.
Lead the engineering team in Hitachi Energy's core values of safety, integrity & quality, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Increase engineering excellence within the unit and together with local teams by fostering a team culture of collaboration, shared insights and best practices, good communication, and the recognition of success, and driving through innovation.,
Support in recruitment, training, and development of the engineering team.
Continuously improve, update, and communicate the global Power Quality engineering processes, ensuring that financial and contractual requirements are met.
Build and maintain relationship with clients, suppliers, governing bodies, professional societies, educational establishments, and other stakeholders Enable open communications, encourage, and support participation in technical discussions, papers, presentations, and the development of standards and directives.
Deploy and drive standardization/modularization through digital initiatives such as, BIM.
Deploy and drive, together with other functions, the competency build-up and certification and of engineering function in own unit as well as local units as per the strategic plan.
Your background

You enjoy and excel at leading, motivating and developing people, and are used to building strong relationships across stakeholder groups
To successfully take on this position, you have experience from leading large, international engineering organizations, preferably in the power industry or EPC business.
You have a structured ability to drive change in way of working and collaboration.
We think you hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Power Systems or similar although experience from a similar role and personal qualities are more important than an academic degree.
