As Manager of the Data & Analytics Platform Services team (DAPS), you have a key role in the development and delivery of Schibsted Enterprise Tech business service for our data and analytics platform set-up within Schibsted. You will be working closely with our analytical teams in all Scandinavian countries to enable them to build world class data solutions on our platforms.

Your team is supporting a modern portfolio with a wide coverage of the entire data and analytics domain. Our platforms include Tableau, Snowflake, Alteryx, Matillion, Amplitude, Alation among others.

This is a key role in our organization connecting engineering teams and aligning initiatives and strategies to enable the teams to collaborate and deliver more together.

We would like you to combine your excellent communication skills and technical knowledge to understand the needs of our data teams and the technology opportunities to create the platform service strategy and roadmap that will help Schibsted to deliver on the data and analytics strategy. So to thrive, you should feel comfortable talking about technology strategies with engineers and CTOs.

In this role, you will be leading a small team supporting Schibsted's data and analytics platforms and we believe you will bring with you experience in the data and analytics domain. You either have experience of leading a team or are ready to take that next step.

The team's daily work includes executing on the service roadmap and supporting the teams in their work when using the tools, so it is everything from ensuring smooth support processes to development, maintenance, administration and governance of third party platforms.

Key responsibilities:

Build relationships with stakeholders

-
Define and develop strategy and roadmap for the services. Ensure alignment with the broader technology and enterprise strategic plans

Support the business with contract and license management as well as internal cost allocation

Build and maintain relationships with Business Intelligence leaders in Schibsted to develop a clear understanding of business needs and ensure cost-effective delivery of the services to meet those needs

Develop and control the annual spend for the E-Tech Data & Analytics service and manage the costs to stay within the plan

Use the team's knowledge of new technologies and best practices related to the application management domain, and provide direction on what emerging technologies and methods should be introduced, integrated and assimilated to support Schibsted's strategy and business needs

Responsible for recruiting, developing and motivating people with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills, and competencies. Work toward a balance between growing the agility required to achieve digital business objectives and ensuring the core business applications are reliable, scalable and efficient

Knowledge requirements:

-
Minimum of five years experience working with data & analytics platforms

-
Experience from leading IT teams is a plus

-
Experience in working in distributed teams

-
Solid technological background

-
A Master's degree in computer science or equivalent education is a plus, but relevant experience can compensate for education

Profile/Qualities:

Leadership skills, with the ability to communicate a vision that inspires and motivates tech staff. Strong capability to attract and retain talent

Strong strategic capability and the will to stay on top of market development and new technology

Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role

Experience in budget planning and financial management

Experience from working with third party vendors

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to senior leaders, and business concepts to the to the team

This role requires some flexibility for travels - the team may include people working from different locations
