Our new Data, Analytics & AI organization is focused on unleashing the value of data collected from connected customer assets. We are set out to drive the transformation into a data-driven culture, where Data, Analytics & AI/ML are an integral part in our services and internal processes. By spanning across Data Foundation, Data Analytics and Data Science we can provide our stakeholders with actionable insights and take ownership of the whole process from ideation and exploration to analytics operations. We work with our stakeholders across the wider Volvo Group and Volvo Group Connected Solutions to increase performance and generate new value for our customers and society at large by utilizing data from various sources, with an emphasis on positioning and communications data from connected vehicles.
We are now looking for a leader to our new Analytics Operations team. In Analytics Operations we should act as a catalyst and take responsibility for analytics value creation in all phases; from early ideation with stakeholders to creating runtime dashboards and data pipelines. We also cooperate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to run AI/ML models in operations. As Head of Analytics Operations, you will be in charge of establishing and building a successful team of Data Analysts and ML Engineers and develop the unit's strategy and roadmap, including project intake and prioritizing with business value creation in mind. You will be part of the management team for the Data, Analytics & AI organization, and be an integral part of the unit on its journey to create value from data. The role will also include hands on-work with building state-of-the-art analytics solutions and infrastructure, where you are expected to be an expert in at least one dashboarding/analytics solution and able to coach and guide colleagues as you develop the unit.
The role
Establish, build, and lead a team of high-preforming Data Analysts and ML Engineers
Maximize the value of team output through project portfolio management and a long-term focus on high-quality deliveries
Build and setup our analytics capabilities all the way from data pipelines to dashboarding solutions, utilizing our cloud platform and working closely with the Data Foundation team and Cloud Center of Excellence
Connect the team with relevant business and technical stakeholders within Volvo Group Connected Solutions and actively communicate the team's capabilities and deliveries in suitable fora (both external and internal to Volvo)
Be responsible for competence development and ensure that Analytic Operations stays at the forefront in analytics and dashboarding
Nurture the team members' passion for value-focused explorative analysis
Collaborate across the Data, Analytics & AI organization, service domain teams and other Analytics teams at Volvo Group
Work to fully leverage the potential of advanced analytics and AI in data-driven service development together with your colleagues in the management team for Data, Analytics & AI
Lead and participate in concrete team deliveries (about half of your time)
Who are you?
You have extensive experience of running and leading Data Analytics projects in an industrial setting, all the way from data ingestion to dashboarding. You have previous, demonstrated leadership experience of both projects/deliveries and teams in cross-collaborative settings. You should also be curious, driven and have a strong "can-do" attitude, where you will create and build relationships and trust with stakeholders to maximize value creation.
When approached with a proposed analysis task, you can evaluate both the technical feasibility and potential value to a user or stakeholder. You have a high degree of business understanding and an aptitude for identifying opportunities and risks that you readily incorporate in strategic decision-making. You can balance attention to detail with a focus on value to help others efficiently achieve impactful results of high quality and can quickly grasp the essence of a body of work and assess its technical quality and validity. You are also a highly confident workshop facilitator and communicator with senior management and stakeholders, which will be an integral part of building the data driven culture at Volvo Group Connected Solutions.
