hela Sverige Product Platform Hauler has a global responsibility for the complete articulated haulers including quality, cost and feature level. This includes for example specification of product targets, concept evaluation and selection, new functionality development, specification and follows up of sub system requirements to meet product targets.
As Manager of Business Planning & Product Targets you manage a team of four employees and will have the responsibility to continuously develop product line strategy and successfully manage product line targets, securing long term product line profitability and market positioning. Success will be measured on market share, sales revenue, product cost, cost reduction, warranty expense and margin contribution to the division. As a Manager you are part of the Management Team within Hauler Platform.
Main responsibilities:
Initiate new product opportunities (NPOs) to be submitted to the Product Platform Council for consideration of new product development, product line expansion, product upgrades, etc.
Continuously analyze product line business and target performance, suggesting feasible actions
Manage AE Product Line Portfolio and align with long term strategy
Periodically review the product line and its options for rationalization and consolidation. Make suggestions to the Product Platform Council for changes to improve manufacturability, inventory reduction, lead-time reduction, increased sales, etc.
Directing and managing the product safety, compliance and product liability functions consistent with Volvo core values and legal requirements
Risk management
Manage product line cost reduction program
Recommend VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) projects to the functional design groups in order to continually strive to reduce the cost and/or improve the margin of the models in the product line.

Strategic and analytical thinking
Holistic approach. Ability to identify and deliver solutions securing profitability from an overall perspective
Excellent communication skills
Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
BSc in Engineering, Product development or similar
Desirable qualifications:
Experience of managing staff
Minimum of 3-5 years of work-experience from planning and development within the technical area
Knowledge and experience of Hauler product is beneficial
