hela Sverige As a Manager Basic Design, you will be responsible for managing and developing this engineering function within Region North, including project governance, function and project reporting.
In this role, you should build a highly competent team, set up a plan and implement it for increasing its technical capability. At the same time, we expect you to have a strong business mindset and play a liaison role between our internal project teams, external suppliers/customers, and internal bid processes.
Key Responsibilities and Challenges
Implementing the overall strategic direction for providing high quality designs that meet customer's schedule and expectation.
Ensuring standardization in processes, tools and ways of working in the region, removing all the cultural barriers and increasing cooperation between sites.
Ensuring that the engineering department is focused on meeting the financial, schedule, and technical requirements of the projects they are responsible for.
Optimizing communication and relationships with customers, stakeholders and other internal functions. Improving cooperation with 3rd party assessors and railway traffic authorities, for homologations of products.
Optimizing processes/tools/behaviors continuously by considering business requirements, customer needs, technical innovations, and new market conditions.
Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering field
Minimum 3 years of engineering leadership experience, in a similar field
7+ years of experience in an engineering field, preferably railway
Strong communication and diplomacy skills, and the ability to guide, influence & convince others and communicate complex concepts
Experience from requirements management, railway signaling solutions & processes is preferred
Previous experience from building and increasing an internal team's competency is a strong advantage
English and Swedish language fluency is a requirement.
