At the moment we are looking for the right person to fill an opening as a Manager within our Technical Services team.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The team at Axis, which is responsible for the technical support and related customer care for our EMEA markets, consists of close to 25 people. To allow for further growth in terms of people and services provided, we now seek a person that can join the team as a Manager for the groups covering the Southern and Middle Europe markets.

In this role there is a focus on the customer care aspect of the Technical Services function, but you still need to be conversant with and interested in technical products and matters to be able to understand the scope of the day-to-day work in the team and to participate in certain type of meetings and discussions.

Among the tasks and responsibilities we expect you to carry out we want to point out the following:

• Maintain work and vacation schedules for your own team so that all support channels (e.g. phone and chat) on relevant languages are sufficiently covered, and when needed align and adjust such schedules with other groups in the team
• Not only facilitate but also engage in the day-to-day work for the Technical Services Engineers (TSEs) in your team so that work possibilities are good and that service level goals can be met
• Be available for team members to help and to coach on day-to-day issues and situations such as; to answer and give advice on process- and handling matters, difficult customer situations, who to seek assistance from, the use of tools and guidelines, interaction with sales offices, and other day-to-day case oriented questions
• Be attentive to caseload/workload peaks and situations when service level goals (overall goals and as defined in guidelines) cannot be met and look for possible load balancing alternatives; primarily within your own team but otherwise in other ways
• Facilitate “best practices” to align work methods between all groups in the team, and if feasible propose updates of the guidelines
• Perform recruitments and govern the introduction of new employees (prepare workplace, synchronize introduction and training schedule, introduce guide lines, service level goals, etc. and follow-up)
• Coordinate proofreading, which is a task also performed by the Technical Services team
• Take responsibility also outside the own department with an ability to see the big picture and based on that prioritize, influence, and look for improvement change
• Conduct manager responsibilities such as to perform appraisal talks and performance reviews, set salaries and handle salary talks, and manage people in your team on an individual basis as called for.

The position involves a few travels a year within the EMEA region.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You’re a service and open minded, social, empathetic, and structured individual with a documented experience from managing people in a team, either from project management or as a manager or team leader for example. You have very good organisational skills and an ability to coordinate complex issues with several different parties involved.

We value the team, team dynamics, and what that accomplishes in daily work. We therefore think you can take on full manager responsibility but without the need to be the main driver behind every initiative or activity in your team. We think that a good management skill is to influence a development rather than dictating it, while at other times management calls for clarity and a clear path of direction. As ultimately responsible for the team function and the individuals in your team, this needs to be balanced based on your experience and assessment.

Furthermore you have basic technical knowledge in areas such as PCs and applications, and perhaps in installation and function of basic computer and connectivity devices such as a home router.

You need to speak and write English fluently with good conversational and presentation skills.

TECHNICAL SERVICES TEAM
This Technical Services team is responsible for the support in for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. All functions are located in Lund, Sweden and we’re currently a team of around 25 people.
