Who are we?
The Chassis Gothenburg product development department has the mission to maintain and develop the premium Volvo trucks FH/FM/FMX models. We take full product ownership of complete chassis and work as "front face" towards the Volvo Brand. We drive the deliveries by close cooperation with technology streams and utilizing global architecture, components, and interfaces to secure that common solution can be used for other brands and models within the Volvo group
We are reinforcing product ownership and introducing new ways of working and high agile pace in delivering product improvements, while working to create and maintain a culture of passion and trust, where we work together and support each other in our daily tasks.
Opportunity
We are in a heavy ramp up phase to manage a lot of exiting product changes and introductions including the brand-new set of Electric Vehicles. To secure this growth while delivering critical time to market projects we are creating an exciting new chassis management team by introducing five new section managers, each taking product ownership for part of the complete chassis deliveries.
Within these sections we are also adjusting the team set up and thereby creating new groups to improve both the group sizes and ensure that the manager can take a clear product ownership.
Manager - Chassis Air Suspension:
Within the new section "Suspensions, Axles & Steering", we are looking for a new Group Manager that proudly take over the ownership of our technology area Air Suspension.
Automation, electrification and CO2 challenges need our involvement right now, just like alternative fuels and increased load capacity.
You will take the product ownership for all air suspensions, both front and rear, including air bellows, air suspension members, bump stops, anti-roll bars, axle lifts etc., with several globally used components.
The current range of air suspension has a good penetration across the world and in all our brands making coordination and cooperation across the sites vital.
You will drive quality improvements, market adaptations, new installations, pre-studies, and advanced Engineering within the area. You will work closely with the fellow managers within the section both in Gothenburg and Bangalore, and with the Technology groups for e.g., Vehicle Dynamic control system.
Cross-functional work is key to secure timely and quality assured deliveries, emphasizing the need of excellent networking
You will report to the Section manager and of course be a member of the section management team including setting strategies and work force future plans!
