The IT Department
Our unique IT systems is the engine of our business and one of our most competitive advantages. As such, Klarna has since its formation in 2005 focused on building a world-class development department. Five years later we are well on the way to achieving this goal with almost 20 reputable developers with over 100 years of combined experience in Erlang and over 300 years of programming experience. In addition, the department is rapidly expanding to meet our growing needs. We are passionate about what we are achieving and working hard to keep at the forefront of delivering high quality financial services with extremely high levels of reliability and usability.
The position
Klarna continues to maintain a very high yearly growth rate and we are now looking for a management trainee who can support our CTO in his daily work. As a management trainee, you will get a unique insight into the company and take part in its entrepreneurship and management. The role is for someone with high ambitions who is ready for a position with great responsibility, steep learning curve and professional development. The chores will include being a valued member of IT management, reporting directly to and working side-by-side our CTO and independently run projects and present your results. The position is time-bound to 1 year, after which you are expected to move within the organization.
Requirements
At Klarna you are expected to deliver from day one but you are also given the means to do so. If you show the right attitude your career at Klarna has no limits. You will play an important part in the construction of a rapidly expanding international company with a unique insight in the company and the IT development.
A qualified candidate should have a university degree in IT, Management, Economics or various combinations of the three. Examples of degrees include, but are not limited to, Industrial- or Software Engineering and Management, Computer science and Information systems or technology.
You have a strong interest in management and leadership and are ideally trained in these areas. A plus but not a requirement is that you have work experience in software development or from roles with leadership in focus. Very good knowledge of English is a requirement and knowledge of Swedish is preferred. You express yourself clearly and pedagogically in speech and writing and are an experienced report writer.
We are looking for someone who is young, hungry and ambitious. In particular, you should have a sense of logical reasoning and intentions. That you are performance-oriented, independent and a good planner is taken for granted.
