Monocl Strategy & Communication is offering a fantastic opportunity for outstanding candidates with a proven track record within business development, market/business intelligence and/or management consulting in the Life Science industry. Together with our team, you will play an important role in our client engagements by identifying issues, forming hypotheses, designing and conducting analyses, synthesizing conclusions into recommendations. We help our clients change the future of medicine.

We think that you have experience from working with business development either as a consultant or in the role as BD manager at a biotech company. You are probably quite comfortable with analyzing data to identify strategic partners and licensing opportunities, support investment decisions or quantify business opportunities. You will be employed and based in Göteborg and work from our newly renovated office with approximately 30 other colleagues in the Monocl companies. We regularly arrange quarterly celebrations, afterworks and really try to find any excuse to throw another party. Flexibility is required if Nordic or national client engagements may require you to travel for meetings and workshops.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work across a range of bio/med tech clients with C-level executives
• Serve as the daily client contact, taking briefs as well as providing proactive counsel on new approaches or ideas that will help meet clients' broader objectives
• Responsibility for analytically solving the client's business issues and make strategic recommendations together with your case team
• Strategic analysis of relevant product, company and industry information using a variety of proprietary and public sources
• Perform interviews with the client's project team and industry experts, and extract strategic insights
• Fundamental analysis of disease etiology, diagnosis, treatment algorithms, clinical guideline recommendations, patient organisations, KOL assessment, patient stratification, epidemiology, rare diseases and related areas
• Business analysis of market trends/dynamics, competition, clinical development design, market leading products, pipeline drugs/devices, patent filings, ODDs, M&A and financial deal activity, patient selection, company collaboration, market research and related areas
• Prepare client questions, workshop material and deliveries within tight deadlines together with the case team

QUALIFICATIONS:
• To qualify as Management Consultant, we expect 4-5 years of work experience related to business development/strategy, market analysis, financing, investment support, or similar, within the field of Life Science
• To qualify as Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst, we expect at least 1-3 years of work experience related to business development/strategy, market analysis, financing, investment support, or similar, within the field of Life Science
• Demonstrated experience of preparing investment presentations, business plans, market analysis, valuation, assessment of competitors, decision-making material to support strategic decisions, prospectus/investment memos, partnering material, licensing packages, etc.
• Previous experience in developing commercialization strategies and executing associated tactics to meet client objectives, managing resources and budgets as well as new business development
• Bachelor and/or master's degree from top universities in relevant fields (business, finance, pharmaceuticals, biology, health economics, pharmacy, management, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish - both verbally and in writing
- Solid understanding of economic, financial and general business concepts and terminology
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and perform with a sense of urgency and client service orientation
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous experience from working hands-on with small biotech companies
• Strong record of leadership in an academic, professional, or extracurricular setting
• Possess thorough understanding of the Life Science industry
• Solid interpersonal skills that enable positive influencing of others
• Fluency in additional languages
• Experience from databases (e.g. Informa suite, GlobalData, Clarivate, Elsevier, Pubmed, ClinicalTrials, etc)
