Job description
As a Maintenance Technician you play a key role in IBA's mission to treat cancer patients.
You participate to the maintenance of IBA equipment and technical tools at the Uppsala Proton Therapy Center, operate the equipment for the customer, perform troubleshooting activities, and provide support to clinical staff during patient treatment and other daily operations.
Your specialty will be SW, but you will also solve other system problems; electrical, pneumatics and mechanical problems.
You ensure the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services. You will become a specialist in the latest cancer treatment solutions and represent IBA with your know how.
You are based at site, but open to travel for training purposes. After an introduction phase to acquired local experience, you are open to regular flying missions up to 50% of your time to support other IBA sites where your expertise may be required.
You report to the local Site Manager.
Profile
• High school or bachelor degree (preferably in technical sciences), or equivalent experience
• Experience in electronics/electrical/electromechanical engineering
• Relevant experience in Linux /Windows system administration
• Relevant experience in system troubleshooting, operations of large SW systems and control systems
• Experience with network infrastructure, switches, firewalls, etc.
• Scripting (Python/Shell) is a plus; also knowledge of C/Java is a plus
• Knowledge of virtualization is welcome
• Proactive/hands-on person
• Detail oriented with analytical skills
• Eager to learn new fields, continuously updating your knowledge (electronics, SW, HW, physics, medical application etc.)
• Able to organize your work autonomously/to take initiatives
• Team player with strong customer focus
• Oral/written communication skills in English, given the international context, preferably also in Swedish
• Flexible, willing to work in rotating 3-shift Mon- Sat
