As a Critical Environment Technician (CET) on Microsoft's Cloud operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will manage the critical infrastructure that keeps our Data Centers running and running as they should. This can mean anything from plumbing, electricity supply and distribution, and water supply.
CO+I is the driving factor for our cloud and storage services. As a CO+I Critical Environment Technician, you will play a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and core technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform. As a team, CO+I focuses on the personal and professional development of all employees, offering training and opportunities such as career rotation, diversity and inclusion training and events, as well as professional certifications.
Our infrastructure consists of a large global holding with more than 100 data centers and one million servers. Our foundation is built on and managed by a team of specialists working to assist services for more than one billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries around the world.
Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As an employee, you are met with a growth mindset, innovative ways to strengthen others and collaboration to realize common goals. Every day is built on our values of respect, integrity and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work.

Inspect civil engineering equipment (e.g. control systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning [HVAC], mechanical systems), ensure that the area and buildings are checked regularly to ensure that standards and policies are being followed.
Use internal entertainment systems (CMMS) to have an overview of equipment and to complete work order requests for maintenance work.
To safely and promptly respond to and manage sudden events in the area such as unforeseen conditions affecting the business, and coordinate with other companies to carry out repairs.
Improve, develop new or existing Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), Procedures (MOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in relation to CE incidents.
Under minimal supervision, perform various types of maintenance (e.g., planned, predictive, corrective) and repairs according to procedures (MOPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for one or more types of equipment (e.g., electrical, mechanical, cooling systems) according to proper procedures.
Have a practical understanding of how equipment works and how to troubleshoot equipment, systems, subsystems and components independently within their trained discipline.
Provide consultation to lower-level colleagues in troubleshooting systems and problems.
Understand, follow and ensure security requirements (e.g., job risk assessments [JHAs], environmental health and safety (EH&S), toolkits), business processes, and procedures to properly perform work in a safe, qualitative, and reliable manner within Microsoft requirements.
Embody our culture and values.
