Together with Business Areas and Group functions we transform Swedbank into a modern bank both in terms of digitalization as well as way of working. Group IT provides services that are reliable and secure, and that meet customer expectations. We are approximately 600 employees located in Stockholm, Tallinn, Vilnius and Riga.

Swedbank is the bank for the many. We believe in a diverse and inclusive work place, and we want all our employees to feel valuable and have the prerequisites to perform at their very best. About the job As a Software Engineer in the Mainframe Development Platform Team, you and your colleagues are responsible for maintaining our developer tools in terms of training, deployment, upgrades, support and maintenance.

This is a very dynamic role where we dig deep into the technical challenges but equally important is the collaboration and interaction with colleagues and other teams throughout the bank.

Here are some of the things we do:

We make it work! By this we mean the tools running in the Mainframe environment, which make up the very core of the bank, need to be up and running 24/7 and available to our developer community.
We deploy new tools, decommission old ones and keep the existing ones up to date, to offer our developer community the latest and greatest out there.
We teach and train our community on how to use the tools. Both through virtual and physical classrooms.
We work with our Product Owner and our Scrum Master to manage the backlog and decide what we should focus on next and what can wait.
We attend seminars, trainings and conferences to stay up to date with what is happening in the world around us.
We help and support our developer community with how to write beautiful (and correct) code.
Who we are:
We are a team of 12 software engineers located in Stockholm, Vilnius and London. We come from different parts of the world and have different backgrounds, but we all have our passion for technology and a genuine care for each other in common.

We are no doubt quite technical, but we are also very sociable, friendly and helpful. Showing kindness to a colleague who is having a rough day is just as important as offering help with a technical challenge.

What you need to succeed To succeed in this role, you probably have a good understanding of Mainframe Development, Deployment Tooling and related areas. We think you have a curious mindset and are happy to challenge the status quo, but equally happy to follow instructions when needed. The ability to perform investigations on assigned tasks alone or in cooperation with team members is also important.

Most of us have skills in:

COBOL
JCL
REXX
DB2/SQL
IMS/DC
Some of us also work with:

ADDI
CMN
FAN/Debug Tool/File Manager
Aqua/Eclipse
HLASM or z/OS assembler
Language: We speak many languages, but English is what unites us so proficient written and spoken is needed.

What you may have worked with previously Software engineer/developer

The Team is very friendly, warm and welcoming. Technically skilled but also very sociable. It's easy to make new friends among the colleagues and we make sure to not only deliver brilliance but also to have fun doing so.

We may begin the selection under the application period, so we welcome your application as soon as possible.
